It’s hard to express the overwhelming gratitude I feel right now. After 30 days, my Kickstarter campaign ended at 1:07pm today, with $10,853 pledged. I met and exceeded my $10,000 goal, through the incredible support of 196 backers.
Here is my “thank you” post and video on Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/caseydinkin/casey-dinkins-first-album/posts/164621
I was thinking about it the other day, how amazing it is, when there is so much focus on saving money, cutting costs, making more out of less, taking advantage of deals and coupons and freebies–because, let’s face it, the stuff doesn’t grow on trees, and we all need it, for places to live, food to eat, for almost everything we do–and in the face of this, so many opened their hearts and gave their money so generously to support my album. And this album will not pay rent, or buy dinner. Yet, people felt it was important enough, worthy enough, to put their vital resources into.
This is a huge affirmation of my decision to pursue music and make an album, to know that I am doing with music is indeed valuable to many people. I am so excited to continue working on its creation, sharing the experience–as well as the finished product–with everyone.
Thank you again to all who supported me in this successful campaign! I am living my dream, and you are part of it!
